Reading the article it is quite clear that ‘ marvellous children’ has proved to have serious psychological effects on them. One of the primary facts that the article provides is as follows: children who were spanked as 1-year-olds tended to pass more than aggressively at age 2, and did non hit as well as other children on a test measuring thinking skills at age 3. In class, we have discussed prenatal increases, infancy and childhood. We have discussed some of the development changes that take place in a child’s genius during early ages. We learned that the newborn’s question growth is most pronounced during a child’s early years. We have also studied Piaget’s explanations of the quad stages of cognitive development in a child’s brain. After reading the article, I tried relating the results of the study to Piaget’s four main stages of cognitive development.
The study shows that children who were spanked as 1-year-olds tended to adjudge more aggressively at age 2 and did not perform as well as other children in intelligence tests.
